What a great few days in Sydney attending the #AustralianSpaceSummit and #AustralianSpaceAwards, where we were thrilled to be among the nominees for Start-up of the Year in a pool of exceptional contenders, Blue Dwarf Space, C4 Space, EurokaPower, Fortifyedge, Hypersonix Launch Systems Ltd, MAREEKH DYNAMICS, Mawson Rovers and Metakosmos®. Although we didn’t take home the award this time, it was great to celebrate the very deserving winners, Nominal Systems. Their achievements exemplify the remarkable talent and innovation present in the Australian space industry. 🏆

The day really showcased the ways the Australian space start-up scene has been thriving, and the significant role young ventures are playing in shaping the nation’s space ecosystem. As the President of JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Dr Hiroshi Yamakawa, said at last week’s Space Forum, start-ups bring fresh ideas, agility, and disruptive technologies, injecting a spirit of innovation into the industry. They are crucial drivers of growth, pushing boundaries, and transforming the way we apply space technologies to benefit life on earth. 🌏

Just as Enrico Palermo highlighted in his speech, the space sector needs to continue to communicate the ways our technologies can improve life of earth, enhance national security and address climate change. It’s our hope that as an industry we can rally behind his message and demonstrate that space can deliver real outcomes for both industry and science. 🛰️
