๐โจ Strengthening Australia-India Bonds in Bengaluru ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฆ๐บ
What a great two days in Bengaluru participating in the International Conference on Space, where Australia had the honour of being the partner country and our very own Sathvik Shetty had the opportunity to present.
The world has looked on in awe of Indiaโs remarkable recent lunar landing. This success underscores its growing technological prowess and expanding strategic influence in the global space arena. ๐๐ฐ๏ธ
Partnering with India is absolutely vital to growing the Australian space industry and unlocking opportunities for our local space sector on the international stage. Thatโs why the International Space Investment (ISI) fund, with a substantial commitment of $20.69 million over four years, is such an important initiative, supporting the fostering of collaboration between Indian and Australian researchers and industry partners. This collaboration will in-turn benefit all Australians by opening up groundbreaking opportunities in Earth observation satellites, revolutionising disaster response, climate management, and agriculture.
By working together, Australia and India not only have the opportunity to advance our individual space ambitions but also shape the policies and strategies of other active spacefaring nations, thereby enhancing regional stability. ๐๐ฐ๏ธ
Thank you to the Confederation of Indian Industry in partnership with ISRO – Indian Space Research Organization, IN-SPACe and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for hosting a amazing conference which delved into ways we can better foster our India-Australia relationship.
We also extend our gratitude to Deputy High Commissioner for the Australian High Commission to India, Sarah Storey, as well as the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) for their unwavering support, which made it possible to bring together over 20 Australian delegates to this important event that coincides with the G20 India Presidency. ๐ค๐
Together, Australia and India are not just reaching for the stars; we are forging new frontiers in international space cooperation. ๐๐
