QL Space amazing time at the AgriStart HARVEST Field Trip in Wheatbelt South. During the trip, we visited PATMORE FEEDS, the largest feed producer in WA, and were inspired by their success as a locally owned and farmer-driven enterprise. We also had the privilege of attending a captivating presentation by Andy Rogers, Director of Sustainable Development at Frontier Impact Group, highlighting the Narrogin Renewable Biodiesel Plant.

A highlight of the event was the Locally Grown, Globally Focused gathering, hosted by the Wheatbelt Development Commission and the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD). We had the opportunity to listen to esteemed keynote speakers, including local Noongar elder Ross Storey, industry experts, and leaders from organizations such as Unigran, Three Farmers Foods, and CRISP Wireless.

On the second day, we visited Wagin Unigrain, a leading Australian producer of plant-based food and beverage ingredients, specializing in oat cereal, pulse-based products, and animal nutrition. Additionally, we explored the innovative history of Ray Harrington’s Farm, Morlup Downs, spanning over 55 years of sheep and grain production.

The two-day event provided a valuable platform to connect with growers and producers in Western Australia, exchange ideas, and witness the remarkable advancements driving the region’s agricultural industry.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Natasha Teakle, Claire Marchand-Johns, and the team at Innovation Cluster for organising this.
