The past few months have been such a whirlwind that I can hardly believe the year is almost over! Spending the last few months in hashtag#Riyadh, immersed in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing space ecosystem, has been an inspiring and transformative experience. It feels like the perfect time to pause and reflect on everything we’ve achieved this year at QL Space.
One of the highlights was presenting at COP16Riyadh, hosted by the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. Sharing how we’re using Earth observation to protect Saudi Arabia’s hashtag#mangroves was such a proud moment for our team. Thank you Omar Emam and INTOSPASS – International Outer Space Association for inviting us to apart of these important conversations.
Another milestone was being awarded the Excellence in SpaceTech Innovation achievement for the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) inaugural Space Entrepreneurship Alliance Program. The program was an incredible opportunity to connect with amazing people in the KSA space industry – Will Tyler and Rayan Al-balawi were the best desk buddies I could have asked for! A very special thank you to Amos Manasseh from Mach49 —your mentorship has been a game-changer. Your belief in us and your ability to ask the tough questions have pushed us to new heights. I couldn’t have done the SEA program without you!
وكالة الفضاء السعودية | Saudi Space Agency bold vision for its space sector is something truly special to witness. The pace of change is incredible, and it’s exciting to be part of a region that’s embracing the potential of space to create solutions for Earth and through Lee Annamalai and his team, working hard to educate industry about the benefits of space technology to drive positive terrestrial impact.
Ultimately one of the proudest milestones has been becoming fully operational as a business in Saudi Arabia. This has been a huge step for us, and I’m so excited about the opportunities ahead as we work alongside the Kingdom’s incredible space ecosystem. This wouldn’t have been possible without the early support of Abdullah Altaleb عبدالله الطالب, Ahmed Alnuaimi, Ghanim Alrashied and Frank Salzgeber.
As I look back on 2024, I’m filled with gratitude—for the opportunities we’ve had, the people who’ve supported us, and the incredible team at QL Space who make all of this possible. Here’s to an even bigger and better 2025!
